Our opinion on Twin Saga and its gameplay
Straight out of Aeria Games studios, Twin Saga is an MMORPG enjoying a post-apocalyptic/fantasy atmosphere. It is a free to play available for download. The storyline follows the story of your avatar, the chosen one, in a world ravaged by the power of two very powerful sisters. The design of the game, very inspired by Japanese animation, should hit the mark with fans despite slightly dated graphics.

Twin Saga offers very dynamic gameplay. The combat system, in real time, asks the player to use his various abilities (placed in a skill bar) at the right time. Classic, certainly, but still effective and addictive. There are 10 different classes, each characterized by specific strengths and weaknesses. Each class has its own ultimate move, which the player can launch once his SP bar is full. To increase this gauge, simply multiply the basic abilities within a confrontation.
You will therefore have to click frantically on your abilities in order to have access to your devastating attack. The problem being that, if the classes are varied, they have however limited skills. In addition, not all of them are available from the start of the game, and will only be accessible from a certain level. It will therefore be a question of taking your trouble patiently, and agreeing to click again and again on the same capacities. Fortunately, the speed of the attacks made makes it more bearable. We also note that it is possible to change class at any time, out of combat. What to try all the possibilities of Twin Saga without having to create a dozen characters. The interface, during and outside of combat, is simple and clear.
Twin Saga, an MMORPG like so many others?
As you will have understood, Twin Saga has excellent assets to promote, but must also deal with quite pronounced faults. The first being that it struggles to distinguish itself from the competition. Intensive farming, repetitive combat and tasteless quests are on the agenda, pitfalls that are difficult to avoid in MMORPGs. The main story turns out to be quite rich and offers a more interesting than average basic premise. But it will be necessary to face repetitive dialogues at will to see the end of it.
That said, the Aeria Games game adds an interesting component: Astral Adventures. These quests, accessible from level 10, allow the player to “choose” how they unfold. Via cut-scenes reminiscent of certain visual novels, you will take part in the advancement of the quest by selecting a specific axis. The possibility is enticing, even if we quickly realize that the impact of the player on these Astral Adventures remains very limited.
In good free to play that it is, the software offers a cash shop in order to progress more quickly in the PvP ranking. However, calling Twin Saga a pay to win would be a mistake. Indeed, it is never obligatory to put your hand in the wallet. Despite this, some features that make the salt of MMORPGs remain chargeable, such as public chat. On the other hand, maybe it keeps the community pretty healthy and avoids trolls at all costs.
Our conclusion on Twin Saga
Twin Saga is the typical example of a good little MMORPG for which we easily fall in love. Very accessible, easy to learn, nervous, its very classic gameplay is effective. Its graphics, although a bit outdated, are still cute and endearing. We will especially regret that the software does not go to the end of its ambitions, in particular with regard to the Astral Adventures.
